Dr. Pennie Bliss

 

Dr. Bliss, a proud Cornhusker, grew up in and around Omaha, Nebraska.  She completed her medical school training and Pediatrics residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  She is board-certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  She has a special interest in asthma.  Dr. Bliss moved to Johnston County in 1997 to open Smithfield Kids' Care.  In 1998 she was joined by Dr. Debra Tetreault and in 2001 Dr. Lisa Parker joined the practice.  In 2003, we opened our 40/42 location and changed our name to Kids' Care Pediatrics.  Dr. Bliss is married to George Bliss and has one son, Ian.  They are very involved with youth soccer.  She loves reading, soccer, boating and Cornhusker football--Go Big RED!

 

Dr. Debra Tetreault                   

 

Dr. Debra Tetreault is a native of south Florida and attended medical school at the University of Alabama.  She completed her Pediatrics residency at Vanderbilt University.  She previously held a teaching position in Phoenix, Arizona, where she specialized in general Pediatrics and supervised the Drug Addicted Newborn program and the Child Abuse Assessment Team. During this time, she helped develop the REACH program (Research and Education for Addicted Children's Health).  Her job also included running an inner city children's clinic as well as teaching doctors in training.  She is board-certified in Pediatrics.  After 5 years of city life, she decided she was better suited for small town pediatrics where she could get to know her patients and watch them grow.  Dr. Tetreault has two children, Hallie and Robert. 

 

Dr. Lisa Parker

 

Dr. Lisa Parker is also a native of Omaha, Nebraska.  She attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed her Pediatrics residency at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.  After residency, Dr. Parker was in the US Army and was stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.  During part of that time, she was Chief of Pediatrics and Physician director of the Maternal Child Health Program.  She then moved to Elizabeth City, North Carolina where she was in private practice for two years.  She joined Kids' Care in 2001 and is board eligible in Pediatrics.  Dr. Parker's special interests are healthy diets and exercise for kids.  Her hobbies are singing, drawing and reading.  Dr Parker has two children, Evan and Kaia.

 

Jana Davis, CPNP

                                                               

Ms. Jana Davis is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina and graduated with a BSN in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.  She received her Masters in Nursing/Pediatrics Nurse Practitioner Degree from Duke University in 1999 and is Certified in Pediatrics.  She joined Kids' Care in October of 2004 and had previously practiced in Raleigh.  Ms. Davis is the proud mom to four children.  The family lives in Garner.  Ms. Davis' hobbies include singing, being a mom and visiting the beach.

 

Lana Kuenzi, FNP

 

Mrs. Lana Kuenzi is a native of Illinois who completed her nursing degree at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois in 1988.  Lana worked for several years as a pediatric nurse and manager at Carle Hospital in Champaign, Illinois.  She later worked as a certified college health nurse at the University of Illinois.  In 1994, she moved to North Carolina with her husband Mark and sons Matt and Andrew.  Lana earned her Masters Degree in Nursing from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and became certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner in May 2006.  In February of 2007, she joined Kids' Care Pediatrics.  She has special interests in adolescent health, diabetes and food allergies.  Mrs. Kuenzi's hobbies include being a hockey and football mom, as well as spending time outdoors with her family. 

 

                                                                                                                   

Kara Willette, CPNP

 

Kara is a graduate of the University of Hartford, Connecticut and has been practicing Pediatric medicine for 17 years.  Prior to joining Kids Care, she worked in an office setting in Connecticut.  She has also worked at UNC as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.  Her special interests include Asthma management, ADHD and dermatology. She is happy to be living in North Carolina with her husband Scott and their 2 children, Alex and Abigail.  Her special interests include boating, gardening and photography.  We forgive her for remaining a UCONN fan.
